Our 2009 Honorees:
The Clergy and Religious of St. Patrick’s
Our parish has been blessed with wonderful clegy members, our priests - Msgr. Walden, Fr. Patrick, Fr. Desmond, Fr. Fred and Fr. Anselm -- and our Sisters of St. Joseph - Sister Charlotte, Sister Rose, Sister Eileen, Sister Stephen, Sister Lucille, Sister Phyllis and Sister Patricia.
Our sisters have been many things to our parish and to our community. It was the Sisters of St. Joseph who lovingly created St. Patrick School and over the years taught thousands of young people to think, speak and act like Jesus. Our sisters continue to serve others in ministries both inside and outside our parish - heading our senior citizen program; working in our enrichement program; serving as lectors, Eucharistic ministers and ministers of consolation; and assisting in our berevement, LifeNet, Social Justice, Girl Scouts and Religious Formation programs. During Advent and Lent, we have always received a very special invigtation to join our sisters in prayer in the convent chapel.
Our priests are the very heart of our parish. In their various capacities within St. Patrick’s and at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital and Nursing Home, they bring Jesus to us. In recent years our rectory has been known as IHOP (International House of Priests) as we have welcomed many priests from various parts of the globe. Our priests moderate many of our parish organizations and instruct in our school and religious formation programs. They are there for us during so many key moments in life - Baptisms, First Communiouns, Confirmations, Weddings and Funerals. They hear our confessions and anoint us when we are sick. They pray with us and for us, laugh with us, counsel and cosole us.
We are particularly blessed at St. Patrick’s in that our clergy and religious are not just people who perform various services, they are also people who are a pleasure to be with. It is with much pride and gratitude that we name our St. Patrick’s clergy and religious our 2009 honorees.
